I woke early this morning to drive across the metroplex to the town of Mesquite. I lived in Mesquite from 1985 through 1989. I had a 7:30 a.m. dental appointment. I made my appointment with time to spare.

During my dental work, I listened to Mog dot com on my cell phone. I set it to play works of A Produce, who recently passed away. His work is what I would call melodic light ambient with percussive world music touches, but he apparently termed himself a trance artist. I did not know him before he passed on, though for a time when I spent time on Hypnos Forum, I knew about him. I owned a CD or so of his. I enjoyed hearing his songs very much--combined with the nitrous oxide, they helped make the situation less solemn.

This evening I learned that ccMixter artist Fireproof Babies also passed away--he was far too young. His music was inventive and versatile. I did not know him well--I mostly enjoyed his music. It's a time when passings and the ephemeral nature of things appears more vividly to me.
