listening

Today is World Listening Day, when one listens to nature sounds. I wish I had a picturesque (or rather sound/image-esque) experience to report. I will substitute instead a single moment in time. I was walking to lunch on the sidewalk on Northwest Highway. I passed a shrub. I heard a rustling, and a grackle, a bit worse for a molt, fluttered slowly out and landed.

Allen has a new fusion Asian restaurant, with low prices and a nice atmosphere. I was able to order my meal steamed, with chicken and broccoli and carrots and zucchini. I like to be able to get my food cooked in a healthy way--and I love the taste of steamed broccoli.
