seeing life close up

Kitty Kitty, My Dad's Cat a video by gurdonark on Flickr.

We drove yesterday to Arkansas. We stopped at Gurdon High School for a 1970s class reunion. I attended this school from ages 6 to 15. It was so much fun to see so many faces from my childhood. Then we drove to Camden, 40 miles from Gurdon, passing many wild deer along the way. We had a lovely visit with my father and his wife. I got to pet my favorite cat, Kitty Kitty, pictured above. At noon today, after a great dinner of low-fat stroganoff, we drove to Hot Springs. We stopped at a block party event at Gurdon and had a great conversation with a classmate who teaches science. I consider science teachers the best kind of missionaries of truth. We attended another reunion event at the Arlington Hotel, the grand old downtown hotel. I saw so many people I had not seen in 35 years. The whole thing was a fine time, and the food was grand.Tomorrow we will drive home and have a wonderful restful rest of the weekend.
