surfaced in Galveston Bay. We saw a large, immature magnificent frigate bird on the ferry. We walked around near the Bolivar port, finding shorebirds and red-winged blackbirds and beaches with old tires on it.
We ate lunch at our hotel. Then I dropped my wife off at a salon. I drove to LaFitte's Cove Nature Preserve. It was great. The small preserve was carved out when a housing development was put in, and features woodland and pond/wetlands. When my wife finished her appointment, we drove back there. We loved in particular the pair of indigo buntings we saw at the Cove.
Tonight we went to the Art Walk in downtown Galveston. We were impressed not only with the art we saw, but also with the enthusiasm of the other attendees. We've had a great weekend here in Galveston.
