A day to put cacti outside

My succulent plants vary. The crown of thorns is leggy but robust indoors. The holiday cactus loves the shower mist. Yet the hens and chicks and the other outdoor succulent do not thrive. They were so robust outdoors in July. Now they are outdoors again. Everyone wants to bloom wherever planted. But I find that soil and light matter. Even for thorny types who are very hardy and not quick to leaf.
