The Remnants of Halloween 2010

We had some 40-something trick or treaters this year, down a bit from our usual 60 or so. I am not sure whether the cause is the great recession or the World Series game. My favorite was a toddler dressed as a duck, who did not know to say 'trick or treat!' or even how to hold a bag, but who proved capable of grasping a candy bar.

I had Kit Kat bars and Reese's to give away. The Kit Kat bars once again are the most coveted item. The little girl next door, dressed as a witch, may have been my next favorite costume. All kids were fairly polite. One mom admirably advised her child not to grab a second piece of candy when a little girl proved eager.

Today I did some legal work, did a new song, and walked the dogs. Yesterday I saw a red-bellied woodpecker at Oak Point Park, and my wife and I and all our co-workers went to a lovely wedding for our younger associate attorney. I particularly liked the guitar trio, comprised of the bride's uncles, who played Bach and Pachelbel to give the whole thing a nice feel.
