8:45 a.m.: trip to vet with Teddy. Diagnosis: a mild infection on her mouth, blood work to follow.
noon: pick up a young friend for the trip to the Dallas Museum of Art.
12:20 p.m.: lunch at Pancho's Mexican buffet. I have an enchilada suisse, a bit of beef stew, a chicken soft taco, a chicken enchilada and a cheese enchilada--and sopapillas.
1:00 p.m.: Dallas Museum of Art. Special exhibit: "The Lens of Impressionism", which dealt with the way in which early photography and early Impressionism both evolved on the Normandy coast. The exhibit was excellent, and the old camera and film information fascinating. There were Monets, Manets, Courbets, Whistlers, Degas, and others just prior to and just after the Impressionist period. The early swimming scenes, when a horse-drawn carriage pulled tents into the water to protect women's modesty, were intriguing.
3 p.m. Deep Ellum Arts Festival. Deep Ellum was once Dallas' jazz and blues area, and later its underground rock area. Today it was a cool art fest locale.
6 p.m. stopped by Lake Lavon to look around. Saw an ultra-light plane flying over the lake.
8 p.m. picked up cheese pizza from Il Forno and brought it home.
9 p.m. we watched and thoroughly enjoyed 'A Serious Man'.
Tomorrow we rise early to go see a church service in which our nephew sings in the choir.
