storms

Afterword 31, originally uploaded by gurdonark.

This morning the rain falls in sheets and droves. The thunder alarms Beatrice, who feels compelled to express her alarm in
audible terms. I read an article about a man who grew up in the small town in which I grew up. I don't know him. He got sentenced to prison for 13.5 years for possessing crack cocaine with intent to deliver. The article said his father testified at the trial that the man used to attend a special school for science and math. Now he will attend a prison. The choices people make lead to sad results sometimes. I hope he finds the opportunity and the strength to make a better set of choices in the long run.
