Hope

Hope, originally uploaded by gurdonark.

Despair never solved a problem.

I believe most people have an inner compass,
longing to point towards shore.

The sailing is never easy.
The journey never goes as planned.
The waves buffet most just outside the harbor.

Yet to feel the salt air and to steer against the waves
to know land is ahead
to follow one's inner guide until one sees the horizon
it is that
and perhaps only that
which makes the journey worthwhile.
