A flower grows on a patio

A flower grows on a patio, originally uploaded by gurdonark.

I like people who thrive despite adversity. I don't even insist they thrive. I like people who try really hard, even if they don't succeed. I think that grains are marvellous things to go against.

Tonight on my back patio I saw a flower growing in apparently forbidding concrete ground. I admire people who move ahead despite adversity.

I've decided that I am not going to get swine flu if I can help it, but I do have great memories of the taste of pork rinds.
