oh glory

People have been very kind about my verbose interview.

Meanwhile, I am focused on taking video of the house sparrows outside my office window.

I put the camera up to the window--and they fly away!

"I'll fly away", the old spiritual goes, but these birds are not flying to Heaven, but only to a hedge.
Then they come back, in search of seeds--and privacy.

Thinking of hymns makes me want to learn to sing to shape note notation. I must look up how I can do that. I know there is a festival in April each year in Fort Worth.

Sometimes I wish that visitors to our state could go to things like old-time gospel music gatherings, or
small town high school football games. They're so much more rich and vibrant than big macs and margaritas.
