Airport Symphony Remix Project--Connecting from Brisbane to Dallas

Tonight my post is in spoken word form, using a handy box.net widget which can be used to play it aloud. I was inspired to do this post by the Brisbane Airport Remix Project, sponsored by Room 40, the Queensland Music Festival, and the kind folks at the Brisbane Airport, which provided all these wonderful take-off and landing and airport terminal sounds from the Brisbane, Australia airport to use as samples. The entire piece, other than my spoken word track, was created from airport field recordings.

I used the samples to create a vocal post about childhood and memory and how things used to be. I hope you enjoy it. Just click on the track below, and the player will play my post for you "automatically":
