taking the right at the light and then straight on 'till night and then, boy, you're on your own

Soon I head off to stop by my office just prior to boarding a 5 p.m. flight which covers surprising amounts of irrelevant-to-my-destination-geography before I land on the east coast.
Although we almost always have affordable non-stops from Dallas to most places, a virtue of our central location, tonight the fares proved a palpable exception, so I am one-stopping far to the north before connecting on.

I have books. I have good will. I have an mp3 player. I have patience. I have an earnest wish that
a 4 a.m. flight non-stop tomorrow had been available, arriving at 8 a.m. I am an experienced traveler. This is the joy of travel.

I am not complaining, though. I am grateful to have work to do.
