When I write songs, I tend to make them electronic and a bit dissonant, the kind of thing that some folks try to call "experimental" because it sounds better than "odd".

Yet when I remix, I like to go to places my own music and skills cannot take me.

I took a four second acoustic guitar sample by the gifted Malian blues singer Vieux Farka Toure',
added to it a wonderful sample of processed birdsong from a Freesound Project member called Freed, and added my own field recordings of birdsong and dogsong.

The result "Ana's Guitar, Open Window", is rather more like a folk song than anything I've ever done before--I'm rather pleased with it.

It's a free download over at If you like acoustic guitar music, you might enjoy it.
