freeze/dry

Today I find myself in the middle day of a three day business trip. The drive from Austin to Houston last night proved surprisingly pleasant, although my pass-through of ice-cream factory town Brenham did not afford me the chance to visit "the little creamery in Brenham" that "sure is big on taste" featured in a local radio commercial jingle. I did get to visit a nice bit of grilled salmon and a dry baked potato upon my arrival in Houston, so all is not lost.

Texas weather oddity finds itself in full force. Back in my home town of Allen, the temperature is 32 degrees Fahrenheit, with freezing rain falling. Here in Houston, a four hour drive south, it is 72 degrees. Tomorrow in Los Angeles it is to be 76 degrees, but that is hardly anomalous.
