house cleaning

Today the press confirmed that the Democrats won not only the House but also the Senate in the recent election. I am pleased by this. Sadly, in Texas only the local races had much sea change about them. They arose to perfect storm levels this time around for a number of local officials.

In Dallas County, every Republican judge with an opponent was swept from office. Things change.
Hyperbole accompanies such times. The next two year election after Nixon resigned caused some to wonder if the Republican Party could ever recover. They recovered. It is ironic that all our statewide officials get re-elected and our local, fairly non-political judges, don't survive their challenges.

I'm looking forward to a busy Friday, and then a part busy/part leisurely weekend.
