Wednesday, 6 p.m., arrive at airport for San Jose trip, just when massive thunderstorm hits airport
Wednesday, 6:15 p.m., flight is delayed until 8, purchase books
Wednesday, 8 p.m., flight is delayed until 9:30, connecting flight to San Jose from Phoenix booked for next morning, sit and wait for flight to Phoenix
Wednesday, 9:30 p.m., connecting flight diverted to Houston, flight is delayed until 10:30 p.m.
Wednesday, 10:30 p.m., plane in Houston is about to take off, other passengers say that the weather channel shows new storm on the way
Wednesday, 12:00 midnight, announcement: flight from Houston almost airborne, must be ready to board at 12:30 a.m. sharp
Thursday, 12:30 a.m., flight cancelled, announcement: call an 800 number in an hour for new flight info;
Thursday, 1:30 a.m. (home in Allen): call 800 number, placed on hold for an hour
Thursday, 2:30 a.m., advised by phone that due to massive traffic disruptions by weather, next available flight from Dallas is 8:30 p.m. Thursday, too late for San Jose matter, which is to occur at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Then, told that at 6:15 a.m. from Austin (200 miles away), a flight to San Jose leaves.
Thurday, 2:30 a.m., drive to Austin
Thurday, 6:15 a.m., arrive in Austin just too late for flight. Compassionate airline desk person switches me to another airline with a flight to San Jose
Thursday, 8:15 a.m. complete 2 hour wait in line at new airline.
Thursday, 9:24 a.m., fly to San Jose
Thursday, 11 a.m. Pacific, arrive in San Jose, see two women in retro sixties attire (one with fishnet stockings and Chelsea top, one in mod trenchcoat) meet two musician-looking long-haired men from Austin flight. One woman is heard to discuss how she was so excited to see the men she was experiencing nausea.
Thursday, 12:20 p.m., pick up client representative from client's flight
Thursday, 1 p.m. lunch at hotel at which I would have stayed
Thursday, 2:30 p.m, head to arbitration
Thursday, 3:30 p.m., commence arbitration hearing
Thursday, 5 p.m., complete arbitration hearing
Thursday, 8:30 p.m., catch flight to Las Vegas
Thursday, 10:41 p.m., catch connecting flight to Austin
Friday, 3:30 a.m. arrive in Austin, observe that another passenger, with hair cut in short, military fashion, is greeted at baggage claim by two beautiful 21 year old women, each of whom is wearing a shirt which says "We love Ben!", and who take digital camera pictures of one another embracing Ben.
Friday, 5 a.m., stop at Super 8 motel in Salado, sleep until 9:00 a.m.
Friday, 9:30 a.m., begin driving the rest of the way to Garland
Friday, 10:30 a.m, stop at a domino factory in central Texas for ten minutes, buy factory seconds emblazoned with logos from customers who never picked up their domino orders.
Friday, 12:30 p.m., arrive in office at Garland, a little
worse for wear.
