I am reading Gwyneth Jones' sci fi novel, North Wind, a biography of the composer Elgar, a book about small town early 20th C. Japan told through interviews with folks who lived then, called Memories of Silk and Straw, and Mary Oliver's book about writing poetry. These may get me through Vegas without undue time at the nickel machines.
I am so very busy with work, even after working some on both Saturday and Sunday.
I am glad to have the work to do, but facing a lot of challenges ahead.
I ate a fried pie today from Georgia. It was not quite up to par, and the calorie load was unbelievable. As I did not get lunch today, I did not worry overmuch.
The Stanford Cardinal softball team was on my flight last night. A flight attendant made fun of a group sing by saying "I hope you play better than you sing",whereupon one player sang a great soul song, just like in a movie.
I woke up early this morning, and watched the end of 24 hour party people and of Breakfast at Tiffany on the hotel cable. I need to go back and watch all of 24 hour party people. I love it when Audrey Hepburn hunts for Cat.
I am glad I have so many good things in my life, but this travel can be demanding.
I'm tired already, and it's only Monday.
