the record

I'm working on an appeal now. It's a series of legal arguments, in which the briefs debate what the "record" shows. The "record" is what it is, and the factual findings are rarely overturned. I don't talk about law tonight, though, but the personal record. If my life were bound in volumes, like a trial transcript, what would it show? How would I appeal? What points would I raise in my own defense? What would I wish I had done in my life that I have not done, to make the record a bit better for the higher court? What kind of panel of judges would I want, anyway? Interesting.
