Lauki noodling
Saturday morning I went to a walk in Allen Station Park. In the afternoon, I made music with the IXI-software.net devices called Lauki and Noiser. I enjoyed working with the samples and the software, but did not create anything to keep. Lauki gives one a 64 square grid to play sound samples at different pitches, while Noiser morphs sound using micro-tonal algorithms. In summary, both let one take some created samples and change them a lot.
Saturday evening we went to see the movie Spider Man: Far from Home. I had expected thia movie to be a solid Summer popcorn movie. We felt the movie was better than the usual such Summer popcorn movie.
Sunday I walked In Shawnee Park. I saw that the little park pavilion is sitll being used as a shady place to sleep by a fellow with a sleeping bag.The Purple Martins flew in large groups over the pond. I mailed out a bill near my Weight Watchers meeting.
We went to church together where pastor Mary-Beth Hardesty-Crouch took as her text the Good Samaritan story from the Gospel of Luke. In the afternoon, I walked in Glendover Park. I also sorted out from this weblog that I had already read Sarah Orne Jewett's "Country of the Pointed Firs" in 2003.
Today I head to work and then do a bit of business travel. I am running some laundy in my dryer now.
Saturday I bought saffronflower seeds to try in the bird feeder. Saturday afternoon, the feeder was filled with birds. But since then, the seeds have not been popular. I wonder if they will turn over to be less well-loved to the birds.
Today the news discusses the sad shootings at the Garlic Festival in Gilroy, California. I hope that our country figures out a way forward to lessen violent incidents like this.
