nighthawks alight

I got up early this morning. I got some home virtual paperwork done before I left for work. At noon, I walked in Timbers Nature Preserve in Murphy.  I saw ten species in half an hour, of which my favorite were the Carolina Chickadees.

After work, I talked to my wife as I drove home. She told me about the beginning of her business trip.  I got BBQ chicken breast at Dickey's pit barbecue. I stopped at Sprout's for bananas, but it was out. That was a first.  I got some at Kroger instead.

I watched "Supergirl" on television. Then I took Beatrice for a walk--from just before sunset to a bit after sunset. As we reached the park, I heard the quasi-electronic sonar sound of a bird overhead. I keep peering into the sky until I saw the Common Nighthawk--my first of the year.

The lightning bugs flashed on and off in the park. My camera's long night auto setting, based on multiple photos, caught a few alight.

Breakfast: organic corn flakes and skim milk
Lunch: turkey sandwich on wheat and baked chips
Dinner: BBQ chicken breast, BBQ sauce (a hand-mix of "mild", "hot" and "sweet"), green beans and corn
Dessert: skinny cow chocolate ice cream bar
