I rationed myself down to one package of Oatfit Brown Sugar Cinnamon instant oatmeal, to prepare for the day's feast.

In the earlier part of the morning, I took Beatrice for a walk in Glendover Park.
We saw eight Gadwall Ducks. We said 'hello' to a small Shih Tzu. We saw near-grown and grown men play two games of American football in the small field. The men all seemed to be related. The quarterback of one team looked like a hypothetical lead in a Summer stock production of "Jesus Christ Superstar".

I got a text from my brother. We had planned to link up with he, my sister-in-law and my nephew at Henry's Tavern in the Shops at Legacy in Plano. However, my sister-in-law came up unexpectedly ill. We made plans instead to meet only our nephew
My wife had ordered a pre-cooked turkey from Kroger to use on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We drove together to pick it up. The Kroger was not packed, and had a cheerful aspect. Our turkey came in a huge box. I thanked and apologized to our
cashier for her having to work on Thanksgiving. She told me that she liked it, as she worked all morning and had a nice holiday dinner planned.

We took the turkey and fixings to my brother's house for them to eat at home. We went to Henry's Tavern. We got there early, and walked around. We were on time for our 11 a.m. reservation. We were served a plate full of turkey, with moderate quantities of sweet potato and of mashed potato. We enjoyed our lunch.

I took afternoon walks in our neighborhood after lunch. I watched sports on television, and followed all day long Game 10 of the World Chess Championship, in which the defending champion Carlsen won to even his score with the challenger Karjakin.

At night we watched a new telling of "Anne of Green Gables" which we enjoyed. Now we are thankful to be watching an episode of "Star Trek: The Original Series".
