cool and bobcatty

After midnight it rained 2.5 inches (6.35 cm.). As we only get 32 inches of rain in an average year, this amounts to about 8% of an annual rainfall quota. The storm sounds woke Beatrice, who barked in a convincing manner. She feels that thunder, like windmills and vacuum cleaners, deserves to be challenged often and with rancour.

Tonight I took Beatrice for a walk in Allen Station Park. A nice woman on a bicycle let us know that a fisherman said he spotted two bobcats on the nature trail. Though I love to see bobcats, I decided not to worry Beatrice with the possibility of seeing them. We stayed on the open grassy areas instead. She had a really good time.

Tonight the temperature is supposed to fall to 65 degrees F. (18.3 degrees C.). That is also unseasonably cool. I like this kind of weather.

My car is still in the body shop. The current estimated time of completion is Wednesday. I still rock a mid-size Chrysler rental car. I think the delay may be because the insurer had the body shop try one more inexpensive but imperfect repair on the roof, when the body shop prescribes replacing the roof. We'll see how it turns out.

Tomorrow begins August, and things will be hard working and grand.
