winning and losing and stingrays

Tonight I won the last postal chess game of my current tournament. Opposite color bishop endgames a pawn up often result in draws. But I played on,because my pawn structure felt solid, while his pawns looked a bit backward. Sure enough, I figured out a way to turn my pawns into passed pawns, while his remained static.

That concludes my tournament with 1 win, 2 draws and 3 losses. Though a 2-4 record amounts to a losing campaign, my actual rating figures to stay about the same, ~1615. My last three tournament results lay out this way:

1. won the tournament, 5 1/2-1/2 record;
2. finished with 2 1/2-3 1/2 record;
3. finished with 2-4 record.

I think I will enter another tournament soon. I also hanker, a bit, for live play and to run live tournaments again.

Today's work turned out to be particularly active and productive. After work, I walked at Bob Woodruff Park until the tall pecan trees.

I am intrigued that youtube announced a plan to ban music videos unless the artist or the artist's label signs up for youtube's terms of service. The idea of youtube as a
kind of universal public forum looks like it's dimming a bit.

When I got home, Beatrice and I played a game of toss her stuffed stingray.
