cormorants

redstar kaleidoscope

Today I took a walk in Bethany Lakes Park, the little pond park about ten minutes from our home. Recent rains combined with incredibly good weather caused the pond to be nearly transparent. I used my good binoculars to
look at the fish swimming underwater--little bass and sunfish. I saw a few great egrets, but the show-stopper was a huge set of cormorants standing among a huge group of red-eared slider turtles. They all looked so happy.

I loved the older woman whose dog's back legs did not work correctly. She had a little wheeled device into which the dogs' back paws fit, so that the dog could take a fun walk with its front paws and rolling thunder.

I sat down today at my software synthesizer and composed a little melody, and then added some percussive fx to it prior to posting it at ccmixter. I titled it "Sawmill", because my few but fascinating visits to sawmills are for me a very good memory. I loved how relaxed I felt, making something, even if the "something" was just a very simple melody (using a sample from a little flute I got in Costa Rica). I remembered how relaxed I was when I created a lot more such melodies, and learned from the experience.

The Mexican mint marigold in our front yard is back in bloom. I saw butterfies today. The grackles are abundant.
Our dogs got groomed today, and look fabulous. I am glad I have Sunday dead ahead.
