water's edge

I want to stand on a lake shore, or on the green patches just before the marsh begins, or in that patch of prairie that almost becomes desert.
I want to gaze for hours on end at what flies, hops and crawls by. I want to find my base of operations, and just let life pass me by.
I want to place my camera up to my binocular lens, and snap like mad for all I'm worth. I want to count clouds,
and daydreams about things I forgot yesterday.
