abstract butterfly

I often think it would be good if I knew how to draw things a bit better. I can do a mean flower, given adequate time and resource, but I am anything but capable with pen and ink. I have all these cool books about left brains and right brains but I have never found my brain right enough to be left, and soon there is nothing left over.

Perhaps, though,it's a kind of blessing. I never put any pressure on myself about things I draw or create--unlike, sometimes, writing prose, for which I have expectations. I think that sometimes one's own expectations get in one's way, more prodigally than any second grade teacher's sarcastic comment ever might.
