abstract butterfly


The newspaper says that 16 and one half inches in the next two weeks would refill Lake Lavon, and end our local drought. The waiting sensation feels a bit like waiting for the coming election, although the chances of rain seem less to me than the chances of electoral changes next month.
Today the skies look clear, but Autumn remains here in some intangible but wonderful way.

Autumn flowers bloom everywhere, cyclical renewal in a land of departures. The darker colors and
richer textures remind me of aging.
