Good and Greed

"Are you not seeking Good? Why do you move your right hand? You move it to get your Good. Why do you breathe? You breathe to get your Good. Why do the stones lie still and wait? They are waiting for their Good. Why does the fly? It flies for its Good. Everything moves and waits for its Good. So you see that the Good draws everything. The Good which you and I want governs everything we do"--Emma Curtis Hopkins

"Greed is good"...Gordon Gekko, in Stanley Weiser and Oliver Stone's screenplay for "Wall Street"

Been hot so long it feels like cool to me

I finished the new Harry Potter book during the latest of what has become a month of "keep me up until well past midnight flying" flight delays. As usual, I couldn't sleep, so I stayed up until 3:30 a.m. This hindered somewhat my plan to arise at dawn, but I still arose by a respectable hour. I've spent the morning working with some documents, and will spend the afternoon doing the same. Tomorrow, I'll do work on other matters. It's quite hot outside, but not as hot as Arizona. Everywhere I drive I see crape myrtles in bloom. Although, on paper, I prefer that each region grow its native plants, rather than growing exotics, crape myrtles get a "free pass" from me, because they bloom so well here. I'm glad to have a weekend to focus on what I'm doing, and just relax into the work of things.
