Rain and ratings

Monday started with a big rain. I wore my blue rain jacket, which looks like a windbreaker with a hood. By Noon, the rain stopped. By six p.m., the weather was perfect.  Today, Tuesday, the rain plans to return.

I played in my ninth USCF on-line blitz chess tournament at Chess.com. I won second place in a chess.com US Chess Blitz U1450 section. My score was 5 games won and 2 games lost. One of my 2 games lost was to an opponent with a much lower rating. Despite my 5 games won, I probably will not gain rating points. I may well lose a good few points. That is the beauty of ratings--they focus less on wins and losses. Ratings focus more on the quality of one's wins and losses.
