The Chess Set

I drove into downtown Dallas for work yesterday. Downtown remains sparsely peopled, as most companies practice work-from-home. I looked inside 39 boxes. A nice man named George showed me a chess set he owned. A friend gave it to him--hand-made with each piece a downtown Dallas landmark. I was glad to hear its story.

The weather is cloudy and somewhat cooler,  a faint glimmering that a storm is hitting many hundreds of miles away. Hurricane Laura made landfall in southwestern Louisiana and southeastern Texas last night.
