comix store

This week I wear my suit each day to work for business reasons.  Usually, I dress business casual.  Rather than go walk in the park yesterday, I walked in the shopping center next to my office building. I stopped for the first time in the new comics store. I rarely buy comics or graphics novels. But I take great comfort in them. I like that there are all these stories, by well-known presses and individual presses, that just thrive in this medium.  They may not necessarily thrive economically, barring the occasional film deal, but they thrive creatively.

This particular store had a small stock of comics, categorized as DC, Marvel and Indie. It had a lot of figurines and game stuff. I did not buy anything, but I made a mental note to sort out an indie graphic novel to read, and then to return.
