hibachi and cold, foggy walks

I got up this morning to a gray, cold, somewhat misty rainy day. But my Cheerios and skim milk tasted as good as ever. Beatrice shivered a bit, being a short-haired dog, so we made sure she was warm. My wife slept in a bit. I showered and got several layers of clothes. Then I walked to the Watters Creek Branch Trail, to the Urban Centre Loop Trail and back by walking the median on Ridgeview Drive. I saw these birds:

Mourning Dove 2
Red-bellied Woodpecker 3
Blue Jay 11
American Crow 4
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1
American Robin 7
Northern Mockingbird 7
Cedar Waxwing 16
Yellow-rumped Warbler 3
Dark-eyed Junco 8
White-throated Sparrow 3
Northern Cardinal 10
House Finch 8

I got some good pictures of lots of things I saw during a 6 mile walk. I headed to Denny's for lunch. I had egg whites, chicken sausage, a ham slice and a fruit cup. I went to Target and got my nephew a Sega Genesis hand-held game machine with 80 vintage games on it. I stopped by CVS for a card. I wish I had designed a card, but I did not have time.

I went home and rested a bit with sports playing on television. At 4:40 p.m. I walked in Glendover Park. Glendover Park has a cute little pond. On the tiny "beach" of that tiny pond (a beach sans sand), a cute little Eastern Phoebe walked.

We headed to Benihana in Plano to meet my brother's family for my nephew's 25th birthday celebration. I liked that my Facebook Memories page featured pictures from birthdays past at hibachi restaurants past. We enjoyed our time with my brother, his wife, his son and his son's nice woman friend. My nephew said he liked his gift from us. I had hibachi shrimp, which I enjoyed.

We stopped by my brother's house, where I got a belated Christmas gift--a framed photo of a Great Blue Heron picture I took. I liked it a lot.

We just watched an episode of Nashville, and now will watch another. The new season seems much better for that show.
