election day

I got up early this morning. After eating my Kix cereal and skim milk, I headed out to the Allen city government buildings. Early voting started at 8 a.m. this morning. I arrived at 8:05 a.m.  Dozens of people stood in line ahead of me.  I thought about the diversity among the folks in line, who appeared to span lots of different ethnic and socio-economic groups. I noted with dismay that an unobtrusive sign appeared to require voter identification, though Texas' law has been held unconstitutional. But nobody paid any attention to it, so my concern was well-placed but not critical.

The poll workers kept that line moving. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. I almost voted straight-ticket Democrat, but decided to go down the ballot. I did vote for some unopposed judges and a few Republican judges who were challenged by Libertarian opponents. I like some Libertarian ideas, but the Libertarian platform's planks dealing with our legal system would be a step backward.

At lunch, i walked in Travis Farm Park in Murphy. I ate lunch at Subway, eating a turkey on wheat with baked chips. After work, I walked in Willow Creek Park in Plano. I picked two Boston Market turkey meals with steamed vegetables and new potatoes. We watched "Supergirl". Now Rachel Maddow is on television discussing "Crazy Eddie".
