11th day of heat

Today marked the hottest day of the Summer so far--102 degrees Fahrenheit, or a tad under 39 degrees C. At lunch, I walked in Heritage Park, where there is little shade. Then I went to Panda Express for vegetables, broccoli beef and chicken with string beans. After work, I walked in the shady trees at Breckinridge Park, where the immature Eastern Bluebirds frolic.

This weekend the weather folks predict the heat will break, and perhaps rain will return. We watched Olympic swimmers and ate leftovers and thought about Perseid meteors.
