I headed home. Our washing machine was down, so I loaded up some laundry for the laundromat. I headed to church, but found I was running late. Instead, I took a walk in Allen Station Park. I saw some birds, but my favorite sighting was a lovely Rough Green Snake who had climbed a vine. When I got home, I found my wife had loaded her things and headed to the laundromat. I gathered my things and headed therey
I love laundromats. The rumble of the machines lends itself to reading. I knocked out a lot of pages on my e-reader as I ran three loads of wash and then two loads in the dryer. I went home and watched movies rather than hang out in the heat. We watched Olympic events last night and dined on turkey sandwiches on sandwich slims.
Today I took a long lunch to go home and meet a tow truck who was picking up a long-disused vehicle at my house. I had held it for a longish time for a neighbor who wanted it, but then the neighbor opted out. I finally donated it to the SPCA, who sent a tow truck for it. I took the fellow water as he loaded the truck. Then I ate a sandwich and had a business phone call. My wife, by coincidence, had to take a longish afternoon break to meet the washer repair guy. He got our washer fixed in short order.
This late afternoon I walked in Crowley Park in Richardson. Then I came home, where my wife had made London Broil and Butternut Squash. We are watching Olympic
swimming and I want to read more of my book. I got a kind email tonight, which made me happy.
