Barred!
This evening I stopped by One Eleven Ranch Park in Garland at 5:30 p.m. The weather had turned warm, more like April than January. In a tree I saw this Barred Owl:

The owl stayed stock still in a tree as the sun set slowly, its waning rays illuminating part of its face and torso.
At lunchtime, an Eastern Bluebird was in sight:

as well as this American Goldfinch:

This morning I finished Stephen Baxter's novel "Proxima". Tonight I move on to its sequel, "Ultima".
I signed up to be a judge at the next round of high school mock trial on Saturday. We ate Sockeye Salmon tonight and watched "Elementary". Beatrice enjoyed a nice walk in the dark.
