cool warmer weather and home again

The weather today stayed cool, but proved warmer than yesterday. At lunch I went to Salmon Park in Sachse, where I saw Eastern Bluebirds, Northern Cardinals, Yellow-Rumped Warblers, and European Starlings. I left work an hour early to drive to Love Field to pick up my wife from her Kansas City sojourn. I ran early getting there. I drove to Bachman Lake Park. I circled the lake in a bit over 45 minutes. I saw American Coots, Mallard Ducks, Great-Tailed Grackles, some kind of tern, Ring-Billed Gulls, a Great Egret, and Pied-Billed Grebes. I liked the rowing boats with their long oars from the rowing clubs. I liked seeing the Southwest Airlines planes taking off over the lake. I liked that I made it to the airport before my wife's bag came up from baggage claim.

We drove up to Allen and stopped to eat at Silver Thai. The service was slow because the restaurant was short-handed. But we had a nice catch-up chat. Now I am watching a college bowl game on television and thinking about the weekend.
