folks like Roddy

This trip has been filled with great encounters with kind locals. Today we walked from the Glasgow Botanic Garden to the Kelvingrove Art Museum on a path that runs by the River Kelvin. We met a retired civil engineer named Roddy. He told us about some sights, showed us an interesting bridge, and kept us entertained. This entire trip we keep running into people who guide us better than a guide might do. The main bit of guidance is not data or anecdote. The best way to guide us is through kindness.

I keep hoping to see otters or Kingfishers or other wildlife. I keep seeing magpies, wood-pigeons and gull after gull. But people are the most fascinating wildlife, and we have met some grand folks this week.
