constellation blackbird

I got up in time to be at the Connemara Meadow bird walk at 8 a.m. I like that our area has free guided bird walks two to three weekend days a month. Eleven people went on today's walk. Three were eight-year-old cub scouts. I saw 28 species, including two of my favorites, the Indigo Bunting and the Painted Bunting. We also saw a Black-and-White Warbler, a Nashville Warbler, a White-Eyed Vireo, and a Red-Tailed Hawk on a nest. We did not see a Baltimore Oriole, but we all had a good time. Here is the Meadow:

I went home and did a spot of paperwork, and then went to the post office to mail a couple of things. Then I turned my attention to some good news.

Today the netlabel Weareallghosts released my new album, "Constellation Blackbird". I was pleased to see it reach release stage:

I posted about it on social media. I had bbq chicken at Dickey's BBQ. Then I walked in Limestone Quarry Park for an hour. I saw another Nashville Warbler. But my favorite bird was this Northern Cardinal:

Meanwhile, kind folks on social media weighed in on having heard the new release. I was grateful for the things folks said.

I took Beatrice for an afternoon walk. Then I worked on more personal paperwork and organization. My wife was also getting practical things done. We went for a late dinner at Rockfish, where I had trout, green beans and asparagus.

Now I am watching a British police procedural on PBS.
