Sub-conscious

Sunday I took a cellphone photo of our dog Beatrice. I posted it on Twitter. On a whim, I applied the caption "Make way for the Joy-Bringer! Beatrice triumphant". A Dutch friend replied " sweet!". I decided to look up the Dutch translation for "joy bringer", which proved interesting and unremarkable. Then I looked up Dutch names equivalent to Joy. Then I tumbled onto the fact that Beatrice means Bringer of Joy in its own root languages. I must have " known" that, deep down. But when I made my tweet, I did not know that I knew. But she is, after all, a bringer of joy. What more is there to know?
