the junco Santa signal

I got a few things done today. I walked 50 minutes in Allen Station Park and took Beatrice for a walk in Glendover Park. I turned in the fairly slight eBird report on my Allen Station Park walk. I recorded few species and no surprises, but I am always glad to see dark-eyed juncos. They are symbols of Christmas time for me.

I wrote several holiday cards. I managed to get three packages to my wife's family into the mail. The line at the post-office was very short, and the postal employee was very courteous and helpful.

We went to Vision Works tonight to get me new eyeglasses. We picked out a pair and, because of a two-for-one sale, got a backup pair free. I went with anti-glare, high-definition lens this time around.

I did a little holiday shopping but need to get started on that in earnest. Tomorrow I plan to get up early and look at birds, and then go to a church service.
