State line holiday

We drove to Ottawa, Kansas and Weatherby Lake, Missouri to see relatives and enjoy Thanksgiving. The weather is cold and I am a bit ill but it is all very nice to see everyone. I liked the kids'dance party on the rug and counting 22 hawks between the KS stop and the MO stop. Some hawks were standing on fenceposts. I ate in moderation, spoke in moderation and even coughed in moderation. I found myself fascinated with the quiet three year-old among my wife's step-cousins. She was French-English bilingual with red hair. Her young life has involved some health challenges but yesterday she was a little girl staying close to her parents. I am thankful for the miracle of little children and their parents.
