
The woodlands rang with the cry of a red-shouldered hawk.
In the afternoon, I walked in open fields near Lake Lavon. A bare tree featured this
flycatcher,the eastern kingbird:

Tonight we dined at Rockfish Cafe. We also stopped in Half-Priced Books,where I got books about the Texas Panhandle and about northeast Texas. I do not buy many physical books anymore,opting instead for e-books, but travel books are an exception. Labor Day weekend permitted us a 20% discount.
We got our dog a Mississipi Bed from Hollywood Feed Store. This bed is made in Mississippi by a former garment mill now re-purposed to dog beds.The comfortable result won the Beatrice seal of approval.
