Thursday morning events

I look at a photograph of my mother and father, both departd from this life, and feel a pang of
grief. On the internet I comb through allaboutbirds.org to try to identify a small, olive-colored forest bird I saw yesterday--perhaps Bell's vireo, I decide. The 10 minutes to 7 a.m. sun frames a blue sky in a front hall room. A man from France wrote me to ask if he could use two of my songs in a short film he is making this Summer.
