up and at 'em after being up

Insomnia afflicted me from 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. I read articles on my cell phone from magazines on tech apps. Beatrice the dog came in from outdoors just before 4 and said hello. I used the browser to look up what happened to a co-worker from 27 years ago. Then I fell asleep and had a dream about meeting the co-worker again, but in today's time. The dream lacked romantic interest,
spiritual insights or a plot with resolution. The dream just meandered and then wandered to waking.

I voted early this morning for the primary. The polls featured lots of workers but few voters.
Two run-offs happened in my party's primary. I voted against the LaRouche candidate.

Work resulted in material steps forward. I saw immature bluebirds on trees at lunch. I also saw the local pair of Breckinridge Park kestrels. I thought that the huge female was tending her young, but once I saw a photo, it looked as if she was feeding them another bird.

An end-of-the-afternoon work call sealed up the day. I emerged despite a lack of sleep, having been nearly human despite a bit of weariness. We ate Thai at Silver Thai restaurant. I sorted some photos with the fellow I mentored in Big Brothers (who turned 20 on Sunday). We went to some cool places. I should make a photo book.

Tomorrow I look forward to the day off. I'm trying to decide on what to do--road trip to a nature spot, or enjoy nature near my home.
