Tonight we went to Mexican Sugar to celebrate our recent wedding anniversary and my wife's birthday. The restaurant occupies space at the Shops at Legacy shopping area in Plano. I made our reservation for 6:30 p.m. The parking garage proved nearly full. But we found a space and made it to the restaurant right on time.

The restaurant turned out to be stylishly laid out, quite noisy, and yet fairly comfortable. It reminded me a bit of those places in Los Angeles in which nobody hears what anyone says. I ate a wonderful tableside-creation tortilla soup and three soft tacos. My wife ate ceviche and three soft tacos, albeit we each chose different arrays of soft tacos. We enjoyed our dinner very much. Our waiter served us perfectly, and the good turned out to be quite good.

This week LiveJournal modernized its graphical user interface. Tonight I decided to install an alternative desktop environment on my laptop. I downloaded E17 from the software center. Soon I got the Enlightenment Desktop operating. I previously ran Bodhi Linux from a virtual machine, which uses E17. Still, I found it fun to add another choice to my Peppermint system. E17 looks and works in a way that appears very sleek and minimal.

I changed the unsatisfactory striped wallpaper to a picture of a barn swallow. Here's a screen shot:

My wife turned in early. I watched a Smithsonian documentary providing aerial views of Utah. As I type this,I watch one of my favorite films, Jane Campion's "Angel at My Table". I love Friday nights.
