Spring arrives

Yesterday I felt a bit tired by 5:30 p.m. I pulled into the parking lot at Breckinridge Park in Richardson, to see if I saw anything interesting. I saw my first scissor-tailed flycatcher of the year.

This, rather than the calendar, tells me Spring is here. Earlier, at lunchtime, I saw a little stand of bluebonnet flowers, another reliable north Texas Spring gauge.

We got a bit of rain yesterday, but not enough of it. We need a several-days-long gullywasher if we are to avoid another dry drought Summer.

Last night we ate sockeye salmon and watched a little television.
