Brussels sprout pastoral.

Thanksgiving Day in Kansas City proved only passably cold. We went to dinner with my wife's stepmother's family. Several dozen folks attended. I ate turkey, gluten-free stuffing (an attendee had Celiac disease), a neat dish with brined brussel sprouts and sunflower seeds, a bit of salad and the barest hint of mashed potatoes. I eschewed dessert. We enjoyed seeing the other folks. I chose to sit at the kids' table. The rest of the day was scrambled eggs, a brisk walk in winter wear, and a good novel.
