quiet sunday

Sunday I rested and stayed close to home. I woke at 6 a.m., but fell back asleep at 8:30 a.m. and slept until 10:30 a.m. I watched an episode of"Kojak" on "Kojak" did not catch my fancy when it debuted in the 1970s, but now I enjoy it.

I dined at Dickey's BBQ for lunch. In the afternoon I walked in Glendover Park, the little park near our home. I took several pictures of a blue jay out foraging.

I did a lot of tech things that did not work. I failed to get QEMU or VirtualBox to work well to let me run virtual machines on my computer. I had previously gotten virtual box to work. I am not sure what I did wrong this time. I loaded Puppy Linux on a USB (using unetbootin) and loaded it on my Linux computer. As always with Puppy, though, the wi-fi at first would not work, and then it seemed to firewall so that the browser did not work, though I lowered the right firewall items. I like the no-fancy-icons look of Puppy and that the software does so much in a lightweight distro, but I can never get the wi-fi to work. That's a deal breaker.

Last night we dined on chicken, couscous and carrots. We watched "Inspector Lewis" on PBS. I called my dad, who sounded a bit better though he is still not doing as well as I hope he will be doing soon.

  • Play fast
